A Day in the Life Of...

Hello Loyal Blog Watchers!

In case you noticed my absence over the long weekend, I hope that you enjoy the 5 photos that I'm going to post today to make up for my lack of daily photos over the last few days! We enjoyed a few well deserved days of camping over the weekend, and I hope that your weekend was as awesome as ours was!

Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined.
~Henry David Thoreau
No longer forward nor behind
I look in hope and fear;
But grateful take the good I find,
The best of now and here.
~John G. Whittier
When one door of happiness closes, another opens, but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one that has been opened for us.
~Helen Keller
Imagination is more important than knowledge.
~Albert Einstein
Most of the shadows of this life are caused by our standing in our own sunshine.
~Ralph Waldo Emerson
The last 2 photos were taken by my 'Crazy Photo Idea' partner in crime. And, if I dare say so, I think that he captured the shots of the weekend!

Enjoy your day!

A Day in the Life Of...

Well, it's a beautiful morning here in sunny Saskatchewan! I hope that you all enjoy your day as much I'm planning on enjoying mine!

Today's photo was taken the other day as I was on my way to Saskatoon. I warned you that I had an affinity for old buildings!

We need history, not to tell us what happened or to explain the past, but to make the past alive so that it can explain us and make a future possible.

A Day in the Life Of...

I have this thing with old buildings...you may come to realize this over the course of this project. The history that lies within their walls is just fascinating to me. So much so, that every time I see one still standing, I will stop the car, or pull a u-turn just so I can get a good landscape shot of a structure that life forgot. This particular building is a church on the way to Rangeton Park.

We shape our buildings, thereafter, our buildings shape us.

A Day in the Life Of...

Welcome to the first edition of the WRP 'A Day in the Life Of...' feature! Today's photo was actually taken at the wedding on Saturday...and I'm actually going to post 2 photos, as the subject made me laugh so much!

This is Camden. A very polite little girl who thought that my lipstick was pretty, and that my shoes were prettier. I have a feeling that when she grows up, she's going to be a shoe fiend, because after I took this photo, she asked if she could wear my shoes. To begin with, I said no, for fear that she would trip and break something. However, along with her polite nature lies the bug of persistence, so I helped her into my bright red patent heels. The sad thing is, she walked better in them than I did! I found out after the fact that I was the second victim in Camden's shoe borrowing spree.

Curtis and Sherry

What can I say about yesterday other than the fact that it was a beautiful wedding, followed by a fantastic party, and we had a blast, despite the heat! We danced, we visited, and we danced some more into the wee hours of the morning. The Bride and her ladies were all stunning, and the Groom and his boys were quite dapper and handsome in their wedding day best. Many laughs were shared, and the ceremony even had its own unique memorable moment when the groom realized he had forgot the rings! Classic! Here are a few of my favorites from the day. Enjoy!

A Day in the Life Of...

Welcome to a new feature on the WRP Blog! I'm going to make my best effort to post a new feature photo every day for the next year. It's a very lofty goal, I know, but it's one that I really want to try and accomplish as I will be able to look back on this next year, and see how far I've come. Not only photographically, but in a personal development sense as well! Each day, I will also have an inspirational quote to go along with the photos to help you get your day started right. Look for this exciting new feature starting next week!!

In the meantime, here is my first 'Quote of the Day' to help kick start the weekend. Enjoy!

Sarah and Luke

A turn of events and a spark of good fortune placed me at the union of Sarah and Luke, a fun couple who were up for anything! I have known Sarah for most of my life, as we grew up just down the road from each other, and our fathers have carpooled to work for the last 30+ years. It was a fun day full of laughter, tears and catching up with old friends. Here's a selection of my faves from the day. Enjoy!
